A habit is a routine behavior or practice that we perform regularly. These repetitive behaviours are all part of children’s essential brain development, helping them to learn new skills and practice what happens when they do them.

Organizing shoes or sandals by themselves isn’t only a major step in children's development. It’s a major change in growth and in their own independence.

It is one of example from Kyakka shoko (脚下照顧), a Japan philosophy that teach us to solve everything that we can do and that is around us, including "small" things like arranging sandals or shoes.

Understand that learning new habits takes time and patience. Children may forget or need reminders initially, but with practice, they will become more independent in keeping their shoes organized.
